    Responsibilities

     

    This position is responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable department to ensure the proper and timely processing of disbursements related to both Residential Services and Construction/Development. Additionally, this position is responsible for management duties such as staffing, training, goal setting, and performance evaluation.

     

    Essential Job Functions:

     

    • Manage and direct AVB’s Accounts Payable team. Responsibilities include: annual performance management and goal setting process, daily associate supervision and associate career development.
    • Participate in the ongoing assessment of all accounts payable processes, including recommending new process improvements, and overseeing all process changes.
    • Monitor AVB’s vendor disbursement systems to ensure invoices are being paid timely.
    • Monitor Accounts Payable work flow to ensure that payments are being made according to company policies and compliance requirements.
    • Oversee the company’s compliance with IRS disbursement regulations including W-9 and Construction/Development 1099’s.
    • Oversee all requests from internal and external auditors on Accounts Payable related matters.
    • Monitor and review vendor vetting process for compliance with company policies.
    • Ensure training materials are properly documented and maintained.
    • Evaluate staff workloads and re-align tasks/responsibilities as deemed necessary.
    • Other duties as assigned (i.e. document retention, escheatment, AP Resource database, special projects, and corporate initiatives).

     

    Non-Essential Functions:

    All other tasks as assigned by the Sr. Manager.

     

     

    Qualifications

     

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business related curriculum.

     

    Experience:

    • Five plus years of progressive responsibility in Accounts Payable required.
    • Previous supervisory experience required

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment across organizational units and at all organizational levels.
    • Ability to effectively train and supervise staff
    • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel as well as accounting software systems and ability to manage processes in various systems and troubleshoot errors
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a high degree of complexity.
    • Excellent arithmetical and analytical skills, attention to detail, critical thinking and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
    • Strong customer service focus
    • Willing to work on a flexible schedule (some extended work hours)
    • Maintain sound judgment and high degree of confidentiality

     

    Training:

    • Satisfactory completion of AVB’s new hire orientation within 30 days of employment or the first training session offered after employment.
    • Any other applicable training assigned by the manager.
